When and where will the courses be held?
Short & Crash Courses (other than Crash Course A) will be run on Saturdays between 9am - 6pm
in the CBD of Melbourne, Victoria. They are held every April & October.
Do I need any previous experience to do the course?
Not at all. These courses are designed for those who have a genuine passion for creating fabulous weddings, whether for others or for yourself. The course is easy to follow and you can consult your coach during and after sessions about any difficulties you may have.
Are there any restrictions in starting a wedding planning business?
There are no state or federal laws stopping you from becoming a wedding planner. The only possible restrictions are in your own mind.
Do you think a newcomer to the industry can make it big?
Of course you can. Others have and we can show you how!
What if I miss a class?
If you miss a module due to unforseen circumstances you can return to complete it in concurrent or future classes. Or you can undertake one-on-one sessions to catch up at the one on one rate & be reimbursed the portion you missed.
Can I make periodic payments?
We prefer upfront payments via cheque, cash or EFT, but you can pay a pro-rata weekly fee at least two days prior to each session.
Do we receive course information progressively?
You receive an entire tailored workbook at the start of your first session when attending class. This will allow you to study in advance of sessions and prepare more questions for us to answer. With One on One & By Correspondence courses you recieve your workbook & if required, more tailored information may be sent.
Is there a final exam?
For some courses there is an exam. One on One & Correspondence students can book more time to do the exam. The purpose is not to see if you pass or fail but to identify if there is anything you did not learn during the course. We can focus on those particular areas to ensure you understand it thoroughly.
I do not live in Victoria, is this course suitable for me?
Certainly. If learning in a group environment is your cup of tea, it is best to attend personally, but if you can’t we can offer personal tuition in person, via the phone or internet.
When are your weddings on so we can obtain practical on the job experience?
We will select specific weddings for practical on the job training. We may add more weddings to the program if demand increases.
Is there an accreditation or governing body for wedding planners?
No! There is not. You do not need any permission from anyone to work as a wedding planner.
Will all of your courses enable me to operate as a professional wedding planner?
We cannot guarantee employment but completing one of our courses will definitely give you a real head start in finding a position in the industry. The knowledge you gain will impress any employer. This is an extremely fast growing industry that is still in its infancy so it makes sense to get in quick.
Your best option is self employment, which can be lucrative and rewarding. In the future Sovereign may also offer employment to some of our most passionate and capable students.
